For people with a tendency toward addiction to gambling, to the addictive aspects of Diablo's item games -- or, even worse, both -- the famous crest system is exploitative and, in the worst case, very destructive.

For those who don't, it simply makes Diablo more difficult to play.

We've been here before and we've been there before, or at least somewhere similar to it. The auction house that was a snobbery was taken down and drop rate were raised in 2014, Diablo 3 instantly became more enjoyable, and that was before the improvements of the Reaper of Souls expansion brought it to the status of a classic.
